The MB project objective has been to renovate our medium-high range of fins featuring carbon fiber blades.

At C4, the 200 series fins are considered the most technical while we think these MB fins are our best interpretation of the concept of traditional carbon fiber fins.

For the development of these fins we started from the design of the foot pocket. MB Fins feature the new 250 foot pocket, a direct derivation of the previous 300 model.

Thanks to the use of a TPE 75 ShA polymer overmolded on a rigid sole, the 250 foot pocket transmits energy from the foot to the blade in the best possible way, resulting in highly efficient fins.

The design of the geometries has allowed to use minimum thicknesses resulting in a reduction of the weight of the 250 footpocket in size 41/42 to just 250gr.

Despite their reduced weight, having such a solid foot pocket to mount the blades on proved to be the ideal solution for enhancing performance.

In the MB series, the key factor driving performance is the new dedicated lamination called “Reverse Parabolic”—a parabolic curvature that, instead of having the greatest flex at the tip, places it closer to the foot. A complete conceptual reversal and an evolution of our previous DPC (Double Parabolic Curve) blade curvature.

This dedicated lamination significantly changes the mechanical behavior of the fin. The surface generating reactive thrust is substantially larger than the surface causing hydrodynamic resistance, resulting in greater elastic deformation and increased propulsion. The fin thus becomes a natural extension of the leg, rather than a simple mechanical appendage requiring force.

The advantage is such that stiffer, higher-performing blades can be used with the same effort normally required for softer ones.

Leveraging this feature, we raised the relative performance level. A “+” has been added to the designated stiffness levels. This is because, when flexed by hand, an MB 25+ is as stiff and powerful as a standard 30, while weighing in water the same as a 25. The result: faster take-offs from the bottom, quicker acceleration, and higher speed.

None of this would have been possible without foot pockets like the 250s. As always, it’s the combination of blade and foot pocket that delivers the result.
